I have recently started a business that requires me to use a licensed commercial kitchen to make my product. Because my business is small and is just starting to generate income, I can't afford to buy or build my own licensed commercial kitchen. And, after much research, I have yet to find a commercial kitchen that will rent space to me by the hour.
I read some forums about a "community kitchen" in Chicago that individuals can use for their personal or small businesses. It is truly a licensed, commercial kitchen and can be used by anyone in the community who registers and pays a fee or rent.
How nice would it be to establish something like this in Irvington? Of course, there "where" and "how" and "with what funding" are important questions, but that is why I thought I would get some discussion going on the topic. I think this would be a great way to develop small businesses in the area. What do you think?

I bought a house in Irvington 2 years ago and have found the residents of Irvington to be delightful. A community kitchen would be a great idea! Good luck on your business venture!
