When people think of depression, they tend to focus more on how it affects a person mentally. It is true that depression is caused by either a chemical imbalance, a traumatic event or is a condition that is passed down through genetics; however, regardless of the reason why someone has developed depression, it can have an negative impact on a persons physical health. It could be that they have lost interest in caring for their appearance, or lost interest in an activity they would normally enjoy on a regular business. From electrical wiring and scaffolding to a wide variety of lethal chemicals, hazards are common on construction job sites. Are workers with limited English proficiency another danger on today's multicultural construction projects?
Predictions are that Hispanics will comprise more than 50% of the construction workforce within the next five years. The accident and fatality rate for Hispanics in construction is already much higher than it is for either African-Americans or Caucasians. What's the reason for this disparity?

Workers go up the ladder with ideas or suggestions to their immediate supervisor. To many Latinos, a "good" employee trusts his supervisor implicitly- without questions. Asking questions can be seen as a threat to the supervisor's authority instead of a desire for clarification.
The cultural barrier to communications is just as serious as the language barrier where safety is concerned. Even though many Hispanic workers are learning English, for many it is a Herculean task. For average Hispanic adults, the learning Recommend this article... |

Holistic health treatment stresses on the need to restore a persons physical, mental, social, nutritional well being. Modern medicine or conventional medicine on the other hand does not focus on the emotional and mental health of a patient. Holistic health treatment helps the patient to regain his or her balance post surgery or operation.
Alternative holistic health medicine is nothing but other medicine, which is not conventionally used by medical practitioners. Holistic medicine includes Reiki, Herbal therapies, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Yoga, etc. These techniques do not have side effects and help the patient to have a painless recovery in most cases. Holistic treatment is mostly sought when conventional medicine fails to work. Chi Kung is an old Chinese treatment for energy healing, which is also a part of holistic health treatment.
To become a holistic health practitioner you can admit yourself to various colleges, which provide courses for the same. Enroll yourself to become a licensed massage therapist or a Reiki practioner. You can also become a doctor of naturopathy, which is also a part of holistic treatment. If you Recommend this article... |
