Great Irvington Cleanup and Resource Day Volunteers are still needed for the Great Irvington Cleanup and Resource Day, Saturday, April 25. This year IDO is adding even more opportunities for every neighbor to get involved. This will be another great day to clean up and beautify Irvington! Volunteer opportunities include greeting, trash pickup, painting, and recycle transport. Coordinator Mallory Cowden extends a special invitation to help out with transport: "For those transporting the recycling, they will need to have a vehicle with enough space to hold recycling. At least two or three vehicles will be needed for transporting materials. Containers will be provided, so even those without pickups can help out. Volunteers will transport plastics, cardboard, and phone books to Indianapolis Recycled Fiber at 1775 S. West St. They need to be at the Irvington Branch Library by 12:30PM, where volunteers will help them load their vehicle. The cardboard should already be broken down, but if a box or two was missed they need to do that. Once at Indianapolis Recycled Fiber the volunteers can put the materials in corresponding bins located outside the gates." I am attaching a flier with details about the day, as well as a signup sheet on the "jobs" available that day.
